1.1.25. Cruiser mode
Function of management by a cruiser mode allows to conduct the car on desirable speed over 40 km/h even if to clean a foot from an accelerator pedal. Cruiser speed can be supported at higher or low level within the engine characteristic though little change of speed can occur upon transition to raising or lowering transfer. On abrupt slopes there can be a bigger change of speed therefore it is better to conduct the car, without resorting to a cruiser mode. Prevention Avoid increase in speed at movement down on descent. If speed of the car too fast in connection with installation of a cruiser mode, cancel its function and pass to lowering transfer for use of braking by the engine for the purpose of delay. System inclusion For management of a regulator of a cruiser mode press the CRUISE ON*OFF button. The system thus will join. The light indicator on the dashboard will show that now it is possible to establish desirable cruiser speed of the car. By the second pressing the system will be switched completely off. Installation of desirable speed On cars with an automatic transmission before establishing speed of a cruiser mode, it is necessary to establish a transmission in situation "D". Establish on the car desirable speed, press a regulator down in the SET/COAST direction and release it. Desirable speed of the car will thus be established. If speed is not satisfactory, move the lever up for faster speed or move down for lower speed. Each switching changes installation of speed to 1,6 km/h. Now it is possible to clean a foot from an accelerator pedal. If acceleration – for example is required, when overtaking – press an accelerator pedal with sufficient force to exceed the established speed. When release it, the car will return to the speed established before performance of acceleration. Prevention
Cancellation previously the established speed You can cancel previously the established speed of the car: – having pulled the lever in the CANCEL direction and having released it; If speed of the car becomes less than 40 km/h, previously the established speed will be automatically cancelled. If speed of the car falls below 16 km/h from previously established speed, previously the established speed will be also automatically cancelled. If previously the established speed is automatically cancelled in other cases which are differing from listed above, check the car at the dealer of Toyota. Return to higher speedPress the lever up in the RES/ACC direction and take it in this situation. Release the lever when desirable speed will be reached. While the lever will be pressed, the car will gradually speed up. But rather to return to higher speed, it is necessary to accelerate a car course, and then to press the lever down in the SET/COAST direction. Return to lower speed Press the lever down in the SET/COAST direction and take it in this situation. Release the lever when desirable speed will be reached. While the lever will be pressed, the car will gradually reduce speed. But rather to return to lower speed, it is necessary to reduce speed of the car, and then to press the lever down in the SET/COAST direction. On cars with an automatic transmission even if to switch off raising transfer at the included regulator of a cruiser mode, braking by the engine will not be carried out, because the cruiser mode is not cancelled. For reduction of speed of the car return to slower speed by means of the lever of a regulator of a cruiser mode or pressing of a brake pedal. If use a brake pedal, the regulator of a cruiser mode will be cancelled. Renewal previously the established speed If previously the established speed was cancelled by means of switching of the lever of a regulator, or pressing of a brake pedal or a coupling pedal, by lever pressing up in the RES/ACC direction the speed established before cancellation will be restored. But if speed of the car falls below 40 km/h, previously the established speed will not be renewed. Warning signal If the light CRUISE indicator on the dashboard blinks when using a regulator of a cruiser mode, press the CRUISE ON*OFF button for system switching off, and then press the button again for system inclusion. If there will be one of the following actions, in system of a cruiser mode there are malfunctions: – the light indicator is not highlighted; – the light indicator blinks again; – the light indicator dies away after highlighting.
