1.2.6.3. If the car overheats

GENERAL INFORMATION

If the index of temperature of cooling liquid of the engine signals about an overheat, you feel loss of capacity or hear the loud detonation, hooting noise, – that the engine, possibly, перегрет. It is necessary to execute the following.

Carefully move down after the journey, stop the car and include emergency blinking signals. Establish transmission in the situation "P" (automatic transmissions) or neutral (a transmission with manual switching) and involve the parking brake. Switch off the air conditioner if it is used.

If cooling liquid or steam are evaporated from a radiator or from a tank, stop the engine. Wait, while evaporation will not stop before cowl opening. If cooling liquid does not boil and does not evaporate, leave the engine working and be convinced that the electric cooling fan works. If is not present, switch off ignition.

Prevention

Do not try to uncover a radiator, when the engine and a radiator the hot. It is possible to get a serious trauma pushed out under pressure hot liquid and steam.

After fall of temperature of cooling liquid of the engine to normal again check level of cooling liquid in a tank. If it is required, again fill it to a half. Serious reduction of cooling liquid indicates leak existence in system. It is necessary to check as soon as possible.
