8.2. Automatic transmission

8.2.1. Introduction

GENERAL INFORMATION

The structure of automatic transmission includes the hydrotransformer, 2 planetary reducers hydraulically connected with multidisk couplings and a tape brake. In one case with automatic transmission the main transfer and the differential, which design is mounted differs by nothing from these units on a manual transmission. For sharp dispersal of the car (with complete opening of a butterfly valve) with automatic switching on the lowest transfer the so-called kick-down-mode is provided. Switching of automatic transmission in this mode is provided with a cable fixed on sector of a throttle branch pipe. Transmission liquid is cooled in the separate heat exchanger which has been built in a radiator. Diagnostics and repair of automatic transmission is carried out in car-care center.
