3.3.17. Radical bearings of a cranked shaft

GENERAL INFORMATION

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish new loose leaves of radical bearings.
2. Clear a cranked shaft, bearings and lubricant openings, then accurately establish a cranked shaft on bearings.
3. Put a plastic piece on each of radical bearings along a shaft axis.
4. Establish covers of radical bearings, trying not to shift plastic. Tighten fixing bolts of covers till the demanded moment of an inhaling in the specified sequence (see fig. Sequence of a tightening of bolts of covers of radical bearings (4-cylinder engines), fig. Sequence of a tightening of bolts of the block of covers of radical bearings (6-cylinder engines), fig. Sequence of a tightening of lateral bolts of covers of radical bearings (6-cylinder engines). Do not turn a cranked shaft.
5. In 6-cylinder engines after you tightened bolts till the demanded moment of an inhaling of the first step, hold on on a turn quarter.
6. Unscrew bolts, and accurately remove covers.

7. Compare width of the crushed film to a special scale for determination of size of a lubricant gap.
8. If the size of a gap does not correspond to technical requirements, establish loose leaves of other size. If necessary bearings can be ground.
9. Carefully remove film traces from a shaft and bearings.

Final installation of a cranked shaft

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Accurately remove a cranked shaft.
2. Clear a surface of loose leaves and grease them with greasing or engine oil. Check, that bearings of a cranked shaft were pure and establish a cranked shaft into place. Grease and establish the bottom loose leaves. Establish persistent half rings.
3. In 4-cylinder engines establish persistent half rings in a cover of the third bearing, and in 6-cylinder – in a cover of the second bearing.
4. Establish covers of radical bearings. Shooters of covers should be directed towards a forward part of the engine. Insert and tighten bolts of covers of all radical bearings till the demanded moment of an inhaling in the specified sequence (see fig. Sequence of a tightening of bolts of covers of radical bearings (4-cylinder engines), fig. Sequence of a tightening of bolts of the block of covers of radical bearings (6-cylinder engines), fig. Sequence of a tightening of lateral bolts of covers of radical bearings (6-cylinder engines).
5. Do not forget to establish new sealing washers on lateral six-sided bolts.
6. Turn a cranked shaft a hand several times and check ease of a course.
7. Check axial люфт a cranked shaft and establish a back epiploon.
